Job Description: We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and experienced Project Manager, to drive the development of our next generation of innovative solutions for our clients. Working in design services the role offers customer contact and a variety of technically demanding projects. Projects cover the entire product lifecycle, from early concept development, detailed design, implementation and test, through to manufacture. This is a high-profile opportunity for you to demonstrate your talent in a fast-paced technical environment.

The focus of the role is to lead the A2E team to develop initial ideas into real tangible customer products in short timescales. The project manager has broad authority and responsibility for the customer relationship and success of projects. You will use your electronics product development experience and your project management skills to transform our customers’ ideas into products.

Essential Skills:       

• 5+ years’ project management experience
• Experience of customer and supplier relationship management
• Good technical and commercial judgement
• Detailed understanding of the embedded systems product development process, from concept through to manufacture
• Knowledge of a variety of engineering development processes, from waterfall through to agile
• The ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams
• Project estimation and planning, Microsoft Project
• Excellent communication skills, both customer facing and internal
• Flexibility to interpret a variety of datasheets, protocol documents, design specifications

• Knowledge of highly regulated development processes, e.g. medical devices, ATEX
• Experience of preparing detailed proposals, helping to negotiate and win new contracts

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering or closely related subject

Essential Technical skills:

• 3+ years’ experience of developing embedded / real-time systems

• 16 and 32-bit microcontrollers (e.g. ARM, PIC, MSP430, DSP)
• Standard buses and protocols (e.g. Ethernet, USB, RS232, I2C, SPI)
• Embedded control of wireless modules (e.g. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LoRa, NFC)
• Experience of a variety of development environments and tools
• Development of high quality code and adherence to best coding practices
• Software problem-solving and bug-fixing

Criteria:

• Enjoy working in a fast-paced technical environment
• Possess strong communication skills; both internal and customer facing
• Use and understand appropriate methodologies to design, build and test complex systems
• Create customer-readable documentation, test results and reports
• Regularly investigate, develop and integrate new techniques, processes & tools

• RTOS experience (e.g. FreeRTOS)
• Object-oriented design
• Windows development and C#
• Experience of cryptography, security, TLS stacks
• Android or iOS app development
• DSP algorithm development.
• Video or still image capture and processing.
